The majority of the changes include Joe Ferguson’s (FSF Titan) appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Robert Falk (FSF Falk) as Chief Operations Officer and Michael Ward (FSF Ward) as Chief Logistics Officer. The new Advisory Board is comprised of FSF Lowell, FSF Merlin, FSF Sail, FSF Cassiopeia and FSF Meushell. The Personnel Department changes are as follows: FSF Lowell, FSF Margo and FSF Bri have stepped down as Personnel Director, Community Director and Awards Director accordingly, we’d like to thank them all for their contribution over the years, all three will devote their time to new FSF projects. The new changes have also been noted on the FSF Charter.

The FSF Team works together to bring you the best simming experience, with updating of current simulations alongside new simulations, we are going to announce many new projects in the upcoming months which we hope you’ll enjoy.

New Simulation – Star Trek: Onimaru

We are glad to announce the newest addition to the Simming.net family. The Star Trek: Onimaru simulation is hosted by FSF Selkie and FSF Obrian, two new hosts who have started the simulation in August 2015, they sim every Monday at 10PM on AIM – give them a visit and a warm welcome!

The simulation’s website can be found here.

2378, it’s been only a few short years since the Dominion War ended and the reconstruction of the quadrant has fallen short due to the unforeseen rebellion of the Klingon Empire against the Federation. This civil war that represses a unified stronghold within the Federation hinders our progress.

More so the alliances we struggle to hold on to and the new enemies made make the everyday life we used to know, more interesting. The future is not written in text yet, as we may have a chance to make it better. The Onimaru will be at the forefront of dealing with offensive and defensive tactics against all outside force. But could there be an internal threat? A strong sense of character play is needed here and a story that is built on entertaining strategy, join in and see what future you can help shape for tomorrow. “

Sim of the Month (for December 2013): Star Trek: Eternity
Community Award: USS Ghost Rider
Fleet Activity Award: Delta Fleet
Summary Award: (for October 2013) USS Stargazer (SFOL)

Excerpt from the Summary:
The USS Stargazer, having made it to Baku, gets help in the form of supplies from the Ba’ku people to help repair their ship after the severe damage inflicted by the Cardassian attack in the middle of the Briar Patch. While Engineering worked hard to get the ship back operational as soon as possible, an AT went to the planet to investigate for a cure to the deadly disease spreading across the quadrant. Medical and Science determined that the radiation that occurs naturally because of Baku’s location within the Briar Patch was inhibiting the spread of the disease on the planet, as well as contributing to the ability for the native populace to fight off the disease. Now the next step was to figure out a cure based on that knowledge.

FSF Welcomes FSF Falk as its Executive Officer

The FSF Welcomes FSF Falk as its executive Officer. FSF Merlin interviewed him and here is the transcript of that interview.

FM What drew you into simming and in what year?

FF Originally, I got into simming in 1996, on the now-defunct Star Wars Sim Group on AOL. I first learned about it when I think I was doing searches for Star Wars stuff on AOL, and stumbled across it. I then joined a group called FSG later that same year. I took a break during college, I think I stopped simming for about 4 years out of the 5 so I could concentrate on my 2 degrees. I resumed simming after graduating and moving to my first job location, and found FSF in 2004, and the rest is history up to this point.

FM Once you became part of the FSF did you ever envision it becoming what it is today?

FF When I joined FSF, I had no initial desire to do anything but be a player. Now, I’m the FSF XO. Never once did I imagine myself being here, or the FSF being what it is right now. There’s been up and downs, but for the most part the group has been constant.

FM Since joining, what are some of your fondest memories with the group?

FF Not a tough one, meeting Margo and marrying her. Can’t get much better than that.

FM Did you ever see yourself as the Executive Officer of the FSF?

FF Not at all. I honestly, originally, never even saw myself as becoming a host again.

FM How do you feel about being the group Executive Officer?

FF I enjoy it quite a bit, it lets me interact with everyone I’ve gotten to know over the years as a host and FCO slightly differently, but all toward the same goal: Making FSF a fun place to be.

FM What do you envision in the near future for the FSF?

FF Lots of fun, I think we have a good group of people leading FSF, and Titan and I are willing to try anything, including thinking outside the box when it comes to new games.

FM Do you have some words for the group as a whole?

FF Everyone: Have fun, simming is about enjoyment of role playing, and creating characters. This is where we all come to relax and enjoy ourselves, and just remember to keep doing that.
